MOROCCO, THE DRIVING FORCE BEHIND THE RACE

Key points:

2 days to go until the 25^th Rallye du Maroc, which will take place from 4 to 11 October, between Marrakech and the Oriental region, via the stopover town of Zagora.
The anniversary of the Rallye du Maroc, placed under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, will be an opportunity to celebrate national know-how with two bivouacs, veritable temporary villages.
The values of sharing, the DNA of the discipline since its birth in Africa, are a point of honour to which David Castera and the main partners of the Rallye du Maroc will once again remain faithful.

David Castera, Director of the Rallye du Maroc: ‘The modest actions initiated in 2018 have taken on another dimension with the arrival of the Rallye du Maroc’s three main partners. OCP, Maroc Telecom and Afriquia have made it possible to transform the race so that it becomes part of a genuine economic and social exchange with Morocco. Today, 80% of the Rallye du Maroc’s budget goes to national companies. Apart from the equipment suppliers imposed by the federations, almost all the expertise that goes into the race is Moroccan. And to me that is totally logical. We, the organisation and the competitors, are guests of the Kingdom. We have the chance to explore its magnificent territory with a freedom that attracts more and more competitors from all over the world every year, the very least is that we do so hand in hand with the local economic players (see Stat of the Day).
On the ground, when we layout the race route, we meet people who don’t always have access to medical services or sports facilities. The medical caravan and construction of a sports ground and changing room this year (see Radio Bivouac), the giant concert in town (see 25^th edition), the opportunity to meet professional sportsmen and women (see On the track) are all actions designed to share the values of mutual aid but also of the dream conveyed by the rally-raid. The Moroccans are not only economic partners, they have also become sporting participants over the last three years through the Africa Rally Team, which gives continental competitors access to the race. The results were not long in coming, with two consecutive victories for motorcycle competitors in the Rally3 Enduro Cup Afriquia category. The Class of 2024 will have take up the torch!’

ON TRACK
On October 3, Mathieu Baumel, the all-time Rallye du Maroc record-holder with seven victories as navigator, will give a talk at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Benguerir. Navigating the unknown terrain of his profession will be a rich source of information for the entrepreneurs of tomorrow.
On 5 October, the eve of the prologue, Adil Rami, world football champion with the 2018 French national team, will initiate a series of activities aimed at young people. Around thirty children from the Marrakech Kickoff club will be exchanging the ball with the Moroccan-born star on the grounds of the Barcelo Palmeraie Oasis Resort, the venue for scrutineering.

RADIO BIVOUAC
On October 7, the ten or so doctors on the Rallye du Maroc’s medical team, coordinated by Dr Ayoub Hmidane, will leave Zagora hospital for the Ouled Amr dispensary. The caravan, which includes mobile dental and ophthalmology units, will be visited by Adriana Karembeu the following morning.
At the end of the day on 7 October, the youth of Zagora will be in the spotlight. After the construction of the Draa College stadium in 2023, the changing room will be inaugurated this year. A class will visit the bivouac. The following day, autistic and Down’s syndrome children from the new dedicated centre in Zagora will have the opportunity to discover the site.
On 10 October, six classes from the Mengoub primary school, located just outside the race’s second bivouac, will receive a supply kit before enjoying a guided tour of the bivouac.

STAT OF THE DAY: 5000
This year,5,000 carpets will cover the 700 tents in each of the Zagora and Mengoub-Bouârfa bivouacs. With a 20% increase in the number of competitors and a 10% increase in the number of vehicles entered, the bivouacs will cover 70,000 m2 (50% service park, 50% living area). 30 Moroccan companies represented by 400 people are currently working on setting up the bivouacs and 300 people will be dedicated to their maintenance. 5,000 meals will be prepared and served during the six nights spent in the bivouacs. 100% Moroccan nomadic know-how!

25^th EDITION: MUSIC FESTIVAL, PLACE JEMAA EL FNA
The4^th Rallye du Maroc Festival will take place on Saturday 5 October from 6.30pm at the legendary Place Jemma El Fna in Marrakech. A giant free concert offered by the main partners of the race will feature international artists Inez, DJ Hamida, Naza, Babylone, Alonzo, Gazo and Dystinct, presented by Eko Artiste. The young people of Marrakech will be the first to celebrate the 25^th edition of the Rallye du Maroc!

MARRUECOS, EL MOTOR DE LA CARRERA

Faltan 2 días para el 25º Rallye du Maroc, que se celebrará del 4 al 11 de octubre entre Marrakech y la región Oriental, pasando por la ciudad de Zagora.
El aniversario del Rallye du Maroc, que cuenta con el Alto Patrocinio de Su Majestad el Rey Mohammed VI, será la ocasión de celebrar el saber hacer nacional a través de dos vivacs, verdaderos pueblos efímeros.
Los valores del compartir, ADN de la disciplina desde su nacimiento en África, son un punto de honor al que David Castera y los principales socios del Rallye du Maroc permanecerán fieles una vez más.

DECLARACIÓN

David Castera, Director del Rallye du Maroc: “Las sencillas acciones iniciadas en 2018 se han convertido en algo grande con la llegada de los tres principales socios del Rallye du Maroc. OCP, Maroc Telecom y Afriquia han permitido transformar la carrera para que tenga un verdadero enfoque de intercambios económicos y sociales con Marruecos. Hoy en día, el 80% del presupuesto del Rallye du Maroc llega a empresas nacionales. Aparte de los proveedores deportivos impuestos por las federaciones, casi todo lo que interviene en la construcción de la carrera es marroquí. Creo que eso es normal. Nosotros, la organización y sus competidores, somos huéspedes del Reino. Tenemos la oportunidad de explorar su magnífico territorio con una libertad que atrae cada año a más competidores de todo el mundo, y lo menos que podemos hacer es construirlo con los agentes económicos locales (ver Cifra del día).

Sobre el terreno, cuando diseñamos la carrera, nos encontramos con personas que no siempre tienen acceso a los servicios médicos o al deporte. La caravana médica, la construcción de un terreno deportivo y de vestuarios este año (ver Radio Vivac), el concierto gigante en la ciudad (ver 25ª edición), las oportunidades de conocer a deportistas profesionales (ver En la pista), son acciones destinadas a compartir los valores de ayuda mutua, pero también de sueños, que transmite el rally raid. Los marroquíes no son sólo actores económicos, sino que desde hace tres años también se han convertido en actores deportivos a través del Africa Rally Team, que permite a los competidores continentales acceder a la carrera. Los resultados no se han hecho esperar, con dos victorias consecutivas en la clase Rally3 Enduro Cup Afriquia. ¡El equipo de 2024 debe tomar la antorcha!”

EN LA PISTA

El 3 de octubre, Mathieu Baumel, recordman de victorias en el Rallye du Maroc con siete triunfos como copiloto, dará una conferencia en la Universidad Politécnica Mohammed VI de Benguerir. La navegación por terrenos desconocidos, que es su profesión, será una rica fuente de información para los empresarios del futuro.

El 5 de octubre, un día antes del prólogo, Adil Rami, campeón del mundo de fútbol con la selección francesa en 2018, inaugurará una serie de actividades destinadas a los jóvenes. Una treintena de niños del club Kickoff de Marrakech jugarán con la estrella de origen marroquí en el recinto del Barceló Palmeraie Oasis Resort, sede de las verificaciones de la carrera.

RADIO VIVAC

El 7 de octubre, la decena de médicos de la caravana médica del Rallye du Maroc, coordinada por el doctor Ayoub Hmidane, saldrá del hospital de Zagora hacia el dispensario de Ouled Amr. La caravana, que incluye unidades móviles de odontología y oftalmología, recibirá la visita de Adriana Karembeu a la mañana siguiente.

Al final de la jornada del 7 de octubre, la juventud de Zagora será el centro de atención. Tras la construcción del estadio del Colegio Draa en 2023, este año se inaugurarán los vestuarios. Una clase visitará el vivac. Al día siguiente, los niños autistas y con síndrome de Down del nuevo centro especializado de Zagora, tendrán la oportunidad de descubrir el lugar.

El 10 de octubre, seis clases de la escuela primaria de Mengoub, situada a las puertas del segundo vivac de la carrera, recibirán material antes de disfrutar de una visita guiada en el vivac.

LA CIFRA DEL DÍA: 5000

Este año, 5000 alfombras cubrirán las 700 tiendas de cada uno de los vivacs de Zagora y Mengoub-Bouârfa. Con un aumento del 20% en competidores y del 10% en vehículos inscritos, los vivacs ocuparán 70.000 m² (50% para el parque de servicios, 50% de superficie habitable). 30 empresas marroquíes representadas por 400 personas trabajan actualmente en la instalación de los vivacs y 300 personas se dedicarán a su mantenimiento. Se prepararán 5.000 comidas durante las seis noches que pasen en los vivacs. Todo eso gracias al saber hacer de los marroquíes.

25ª EDICIÓN: FESTIVAL DE MÚSICA EN LA PLAZA DE YAMAA EL FNA

El 4º Festival del Rallye du Maroc tendrá lugar el sábado 5 de octubre a partir de las 18:30h en la mítica plaza de Yamaa El Fna de Marrakech. Será un concierto gigante, gratuito, ofrecido por los principales socios de la carrera. Contará con la presencia de los artistas internacionales Inez, DJ Hamida, Naza, Babylone, Alonzo, Gazo y Dystinct, presentados por Eko Artiste. Los jóvenes de Marrakech serán los primeros en celebrar la 25ª edición del Rallye du Maroc.
